What We Do
Brave fACEs works to make ACEs awareness accessible to everyone in our community. We provide education, training, resources, and technical support to help individuals and organizations build trauma-informed practices.
Our work focuses on:
Public Awareness
We educate Lincoln about ACEs, their long-term impact, and how communities can prevent childhood trauma. Our awareness efforts reach early childhood providers, healthcare professionals, educators, parents, and community leaders.
ACEs & Trauma Training
Brave fACEs offers evidence-informed courses—including Trauma 101 and Trauma 201—for educators, healthcare providers, parents, and caregivers. These trainings help participants recognize trauma, respond with compassion, and build resilience.
Community Data & Insights
We collect and analyze ACEs-related data in Lancaster County to understand community awareness, prevalence of ACEs, and trauma-informed readiness. This information guides health priorities and prevention efforts.
Community Partnerships
Brave fACEs collaborates with schools, childcare centers, medical providers, cultural centers, and civic groups to integrate trauma-informed practices across Lincoln. Together, we strengthen protective factors and build environments where families can thrive.
Technical Support & Early Response
We help organizations screen for ACEs, encourage early intervention, and build strong referral networks. Our team provides technical assistance to agencies seeking to become trauma-informed.

Why It Matters
Adverse Childhood Experiences are one of the most significant public health issues of our time. When communities understand trauma—and know how to respond—children have a better chance to grow, heal, and thrive.
Brave fACEs is made possible through partnership with Community Health Endowment (CHE) and CHI Health St. Elizabeth, who share our commitment to creating a trauma-informed Lincoln.
